Rent a Worm Bin 

Discover the fascinating world of worms and see composting in action! Rent a worm bin for your classroom or community group and explore the powerful role vermicomposting plays in reducing waste and building healthy soil.

Each bin comes fully equipped with red wiggler worms, coconut coir, and garden soil. Over the course of a week, participants can observe firsthand as worms transform organic waste into nutrient-rich castings, a natural soil amendment that supports healthy plants and thriving gardens.

Worm bins include clear care and feeding instructions, making it easy and engaging for learners of all ages to participate.

Cost:

  • For a 2 week rental (14 days): $50.00 plus GST

  • For a 4 week rental (28 days): $100.00 plus GST

  • For a 6 week rental (42 days): $150.00 plus GST

Teachers and educators can book our worm bins for their classrooms. It is a hands-on way for your students to learn about vermicomposting and waste management.

Booking for a non-school program or for personal use? 

Follow the instructions below 

  1. Coordination: E-mail our EcoStore at products@greencalgary.org to order a rental.

     

  2. Payment: You will receive an electronic or hard copy invoice from Green Calgary within one week of drop off.

     

  3. Delivery or Pick-up: 

    Green Calgary office (105 12 Ave SE #810).

    Please visit our EcoStore page for store hours.

     

  4. Learning!  Watch the worms turn your food scraps and newspaper into healthy living soil.

     

  5. Drop off at Green Calgary’s office (105 12 Ave SE #810), within 2 days after your rental termination date. Late and/or damage fees will apply.
