Back To School- Again

Supporting Teachers Through this Transition

We know this school year has been anything but easy for educators. The recent strike and back-to-work legislation have placed extra stress on teachers, support staff, and students alike. We acknowledge the incredible effort it takes to keep classrooms running, and we want to take a moment to thank our teachers for their resilience, adaptability, and continued dedication to helping young Calgarians learn and grow.

Our Green Kids Program was created to support teachers in delivering meaningful, hands-on environmental education. We understand that in the midst of changing schedules and uncertainty, planning field trips or in-class presentations can feel overwhelming. That’s why our team has been working hard behind the scenes to make things easier for you.

Over the past few months, we’ve been reviewing our programs and resources to ensure that when you’re ready to book, everything runs smoothly. We’re making improvements to our booking process, adding new resources activities to our Edu-Kit rentals, and refreshing our program materials to add even more value for your students. Whether you’re looking to bring a Green Calgary educator into your classroom or rent one of our Edu-Kits, we’re here to provide engaging, curriculum-aligned experiences that take the stress out of planning.

We’re also prioritizing flexibility. Our programs continue to be available for 2025 program bookings, and encourage teachers looking ahead to 2026 to book early to secure preferred dates. Our team is committed to working with teachers individually to find solutions that fit your needs, schedule, budget and classroom goals.

Whether your students are learning about waste reduction, water conservation, or the wonders of matter and energy, our programs are designed to spark curiosity and connection to the planet we share.

To all the teachers navigating these challenges: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re here to help lighten your load.

To book your program, please visit our Programs page on our website or reach out to Green Calgary’s Education Coordinator Luke Ehler at lukee@greencalgary.org to discuss your classroom’s unique needs.
