Announcing the 2017 Rain Barrel Art Exhibition Contest!

Make a beautiful statement this spring!
Green Calgary needs your help to showcase the charm of our amazing rain barrels.
Join our Rain Barrel Art Exhibition as an artist, and enter to win some great eco-friendly prizes!
Details:
- We are accepting entries from artists and groups (families, communities, companies, churches, etc…) from March 22, 2017 until March 31, 2017
- Sign-Up to Participate Here
- All applicants will be contacted via email on or before April 1, 2017. If you are selected as an entrant in the art contest, your barrel will be available for pickup at the Green Calgary ecoStore (#100, 301 14 Street NW, Calgary) from April 1, 2017 until April 8, 2017. Barrels must be picked up and signed for by the artist or a pre-arranged designate. There is no cost to you for the barrel that you decorate.
- You decorate! We know that paint works really well – but we won’t discourage any inspired artistic idea that you have.
- You return your barrel to the Green Calgary ecoStore before Noon on Friday, April 21, 2017.
- If you incurred costs to create your piece, and you would like reimbursement, please bring receipts with you. Green Calgary will reimburse up to a total of $60 – 50% for brushes, sponges and other applicators, and 100% for paint and other mediums.
- On April 22, 2017, your barrel as well as the other entrants will begin their journey at the IKEA Calgary Earth Day Celebration.
- Calgarians will vote online and in person for their favourite.
- Voting is open April 22 – May 22, 2017
- We will announce the winner on June 3, 2017, via Facebook Live video from our Rain Barrel and Composter sale at the ATB location at Creekside in Calgary
- Winner receives:
- 1x Rain Barrel & appropriate fittings for their property
- 1x soil saver composter
- 1x GCA Gift Basket with a variety of household products
- Total estimated prize value: $250.00
- Winner receives:
- All participants will be appropriately credited through all media channels used by Green Calgary Association for the promotion and recognition of this program.
