Waste at Work

Are you struggling with waste in your office?  Have you tried putting a recycling program in place, but it’s just not working? Are you looking for ways you can get your employees and coworkers more engaged in environmental actions around the office?  If your answer is yes to any or all of the questions than Green Calgary’s Waste at Work presentation is just what you need. This 50 minute presentation is primarily aimed at educating employees on steps they can take to reduce their environmental impact at work.  We take you from the macro view of why commercial waste is an important issue in Calgary down to how recycling stations can either make or break a program.

The target audience for this presentation is office employees; however it can be modified to fit the needs of industrial and institutional workers as well as community groups. Participants take away a greater understanding of how their personal actions can affect the waste generated by a facility, how to overcome the challenges in implementing a successful program as well as the chance to explore other green office topics such as energy, water, green meetings and green procurement. A few luck participants will be given environmental prizes which they can use to start making green changes right away.
