Volunteers extend Green Calgary's reach in the Community!
Our volunteers provide the passion and enthusiasm that enables Green Calgary to empower Calgarians to create healthy homes and communities.
Skilled and committed volunteers represent Green Calgary at public events, provide administrative assistance, facilitate environmental education presentations, provide IT support, research and write for our different programs, and help out with annual celebrations and fundraisers.
Green Calgary's timely and effective programs support Calgarians of all ages in the creation of an environmentally clean and healthy community. Our roster of programs is a dynamic one, with new programs being added and existing programs expanded as the environmental needs and interests of Calgarians evolve. All of the Green Calgary programs rely on vibrant volunteers.

STEPS TO BECOMING A GREEN CALGARY VOLUNTEER
We're always looking for volunteers who can offer any amount of time to Green Calgary - once a week, a single evening, or somewhere in between. Just join us when you have time available, on your own schedule. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your interest in volunteering with Green Calgary on a part time basis. We will then add your name to the volunteer database and you can simply respond to the opportunities that are of interest to you when emails are sent. This is done on a bi-monthly basis, and you can ask to be removed at any time.
Were you looking to make a greater impact, gain some work experience, and really engage with Calgarians? Do you have frequent daytime or evening, weekday or weekend availability, and are interested in committing to weekly or bi-weekly regular shifts for at least the next 6-months? Then read on and engage the city of Calgary as an Environmental Educator, a Waste Assessor, a Rain Barrel and Composting expert, or as a Healthy Homes volunteer.
- Complete and submit a volunteer application form found HERE. We are having some online application submission issues. If you recieve an error message saying that your applicaiton did not go through, please email email@example.com for an electroinc copy of the application. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Teaching Kids About the Environment!
The focus of the Environmental Education program is to get children interested in our environment, and better understand their impacts on the world around them. One of the ways we do this is answering questions such as "when I throw something away, where IS away?" or "what do worms eat?"
If you enjoy working with some enthusiastic members of our community, and have a current police record check, please take a look at the dates, times and locations below for our upcoming program delivery and email firstname.lastname@example.org with your availability.
- December 5, 9:00-10:00am Lake Bonavista School 1015-120 Ave SE Calgary
- December 9, 9:00-10:00am, 10:30-11:30am, 1:05-2:05pm Briar Hill School 1233 21 Street NW Calgary
Volunteers needed for December Sustainability Series!
Every month Green Calgary offers a Sustainability Series event that aims to provide Calgarians the tools they need to live a little greener. We are always looking for help greeting attendees and setting up the space for the event. The next event where we need an extra pair of hands (or more) is:
WHAT: Toy Swap - a number of volunteers will be required, details TBD
WHERE: Hillhurst United Church, 1227 Kensington Close, N.W
WHEN: Saturday December 7th - times TBD (daytime opportunity, 9am to 5pm range).
Please email Lynn email@example.com if you want to volunteer and be kept in the loop! (Now might be a great opportunity to do a sweep of the house and see if there are any toys your children no longer need or play with, or do a "second hand only" toy drive at work!)
Volunteer In Your Bunny Slippers!
Green Calgary has a wonderful resource in our Guide Series, but it's been a while since they've been updated. We could use your help making sure the content is as current as possible.
Below is a list of the guides for review and updates. Let us know what guide you would like to work on and we'll go from there. We'll make this as manageable for you as possible, with lots of guidance and support from us.
