Sustainability Series Presents: Soap-making 101
Join Green Calgary and the experts at Calgary’s Soap & More in this exciting hands-on workshop! Learn the basics of making your own cold process soap including the chemistry of soap-making, what tracing is, and how to add scent. Homemade soap is as effective as conventional soaps, isn’t laden with nasty chemicals, is very inexpensive to make, and doesn’t take all that much time. Take control of the ingredients in your soap and have fun by learning how to make it yourself!
Admission: $65 General Admission / $60 for Green Calgary members. We will accept half Calgary Dollars. Price includes 2 hours of instruction and 1 pound of soap to take home.
Items to bring: Close-toed shoes, long sleeves and pants, a clean towel to wrap your soaps in, and a reusable bag to carry any other purchases in.
Prerequisite: No experience required! However you must be 18 years old to enroll and participate.

Green Calgary - Fund Development Coordinator
Founded in 1978, Green Calgary is a leading urban environmental non profit charitable organization supporting Calgarians in living a more sustainable life; helping them take effective environmental action in their homes, work places, schools, and communities.
Based in Calgary and reporting to the Green Calgary Executive Director, you will be responsible for planning, managing and supporting resource development for Green Calgary as well as providing support for business development initiatives directly related to Green Calgary programming.
As an ideal candidate, you will have a demonstrated passion for the environment and for fostering sustainability. You share this passion in the relationships you build – whether it’s with organizations, corporate sponsors, individual donors, government funders or other non profits. You are a great communicator with a love for fund development and a demonstrated knowledge in coordinating major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorship programs. Ideally, you would also have skill in developing business relationships that could help enhance our fee for service revenues as well. A natural organizer and multi-tasker, you thrive in a fast paced, non profit environment where collaboration, flexibility, and being a self starter are an absolute necessity.
