Green Drinks Calgary

Green Drinks Calgary is an open-format monthly event for those interested in the environment to network and socialize.

This year, good conversations are now matched with good food and drink, courtesy of our new venue, The District.

The District is a new gastro pub located in Calgary’s design district that sources locally for much of their food or drink.

The District will also be providing a limited run of menu samples, a special gift card for all who attend & even a door prize to be won.

We have also paired good food and drink with good people as we feature local people doing good for the environment in Calgary.

Food: Today, Tomorrow, Together!

As Canadian communities stretch to equip themselves for a rapidly changing world, concerns with food security, food sustainability and food sovereignty are suddenly “on the table”. Consumers want assurances that their food is safe. Shoppers who only a short time ago thought of food as coming from the store increasingly want to know where and how it was produced. There is a growing segment of consumers who now want to feel some sort of “relationship” with the farmer who grew it. Canadians who eat for a living are finally waking up to the fact that farmers are important. Can good public policy be far behind? Come listen to Canadian Agrologist and farm columnist Wendy Holm talk about why emerging public focus on food is happening “just in time” and what communities can do to support it.
