Garden Tower Projects
Interested in small-scale sustainability in the classroom with big impacts? Consider getting involved with our Green Kids' garden tower projects! The tower is an indoor garden, designed to recycle unwanted food waste into healthy compost which is then used to grow edible plants. Teachers may choose from two tower types. Rain barrel types require that the teacher has access to a wheeled platform. Otherwise, we will provide bucket style towers which can be moved by students and teachers easily.
Students have the opportunity to contribute to a food waste reduction initiative while learning about nutrient cycling, systems thinking, and life cycles. In addition, this project fosters teamwork, gardening, and critical thinking skills while building on several cross-curricular competencies.
