Model B is ideal for a downspout that is not close to a basement window. This 45 gallon rain barrel comes with a 4” mesh covered collector hole to keep out creatures and any debris that may be in your downspout. It is designed to sit directly under your downspout. The tap located near the bottom is where you will retrieve your rain water.  The adaptor located near the top of the barrel is ideal for attaching a hose to run into a rain garden or shrub to put some of the overflowing rain water to good use.

Both models are repurposed food-grade barrels that once held condiments, pop syrup, or molasses. Now they are great additions to your yard: Rain water contains more nitrogen and none of the chlorine found in tap water, as well as a natural temperature that doesn’t shock plants, so your plants will love it! A rain barrel will also help you conserve water and save money on your water bill!

Rain Barrels must be winterized to avoid frozen water cracking or splitting the barrels. We suggest keeping the length of downspout cut off during the installation process to reattach for the winter. Drain your barrel completely, and leave it on it’s side or upside down for the winter.
