Empowering companies to reduce, reuse and recycle operational waste

Objective: Commercial Environmental Services assists companies to reduce their environmental impact associated with waste. We offer the information, education, resources and tools necessary to divert waste from landfill and reach your waste diversion goals. The one on one support allows us to understand your needs and customize the services and recommendations for your business.

  • Waste Reduction Solutions - One-on-one support to identify reuse and recycling opportunities through a site tour and interview, followed by recommendations, referrals, reports and green measurables.
  • Online Recycling Directory - A convenient way to locate recycling companies in Calgary.
  • Waste Assessments - Quantify the waste and recycling composition and rates from your company to create a baseline measurement and improve waste reduction programs.
  • Calgary Materials Exchange - An on-line forum for companies to list materials that are available or wanted for exchange - www.cmex.ca

Environmental Education

  1. Workshops - Commercial Environmental Services hosts workshops to explore barriers and solutions for specific materials. As well as being informative the workshops provide excellent networking opportunities to strengthen business relationships.
  2. Presentations: A wide variety of presentations to businesses and organizations to help answer tough questions about the environment, explain practical ways to become green and share Calgary-specific knowledge. These can be delivered as part of a staff meeting, as a ‘Lunch and Learn’ or any other time.
  3. Resources: Fact sheet and guides

Products for Business - The Green Calgary EcoStore sells products that are environmentally sustainable and help to reduce waste and conserve water. There are a variety of Eco friendly office supplies available and the opportunity to create a corporate account. Members get a 10% discount.

Residential Environmental Services - Healthy Homes - Residential home visits to create a healthy living environment, while reducing the home’s “eco-footprint”.

Registration: Please contact one of the Commercial Environmental Services team members with company information and desired level of involvement (ie. participant, member, sponsor). An email will then be sent to confirm registration and provide you with your username and password for access to the CMEX website and your company’s account.
