One-on-one support to assist your company in achieving desired waste reduction and other environmental goals at the workplace.  Through customized consultation, staff are able to provide the necessary recommendations and solutions, quantitative reporting on recycling initiatives and associated ecological benefits, recycling research, education and advising  to corporate green teams.


One hour site visit and consultation to identify simple areas of environmental improvement with a focus on waste reduction and recycling.  Recommendations are provided based on findings and company priorities.

Price: $100*


A site visit and review of your current waste reduction programs and other environmental practices, followed by a report containing:
- A baseline of your recycling.
- Your recycling in terms of green measurables (ie. trees saved, garbage trucks kept from landfill, etc.)
- Waste reduction recommendations.
- Advice on how to reduce your workplace's environmental impact.

Used to measure the overall rate of waste diversion and the composition of waste and recycling streams at a company. 
The assessment includes:
- A baseline report which can be used for ongoing performance measurement.
- Tailored recommendations on how to reduce your waste and increase your recycling based on your waste output.

We work with you to develop a detailed plan of action to reduce your waste output and overall environmental impact that fits with your company needs, culture and timeline.  The plan includes many of the tools needed to achieve a succesfull result.

Engage employees on their role in helping to reduce the enviornmental impact at the workplace.
Waste at Work  - This presentation will overview Calgary's commercial waste situation, discuss current office practices with attendees and provide ideas of the personal changes individuals can make at the workplace to complement the organizations overall efforts.

Creating a Healthy Home - This presentation offers a dynamic and solutions-based approach to creating a healthier home and reducing our residential ecological footprint. Participants will learn how to save money on their utility bills through simple changes within the home as well as valuable tips on making sustainable lifestyle choices that have a positive impact on the environment and our communities.

"Sponsor an Employee" for a Healthy Homes visit to further engage employees in their sustainable efforts. 

Healthy Homes Calgary aims to improve personal health, build commuity resilience, and reduce pressure on the natural environment.  These objectives are achieved by working with families directly in the home, providing accessible, easy-to-use information, as well as the resources and tools necessary to create positive and lasting change.

The holistic approach, which covers energy and water conservation, chemical use and indoor air quality, waste reduction, sustainable food choices and mindful purchasing, allows the Healthy Homes Calgary staff and volunteers to engage Calgarians in  a deep and meaningful way.

Companies are often looking for ways to engage the community or provide volunteer opportunities to their employees, by offering a home visit this can further engage employees in their sustainable efforts.  Home visits are a great “thank you” to green team members, as prizes for fun eco-challenges and they’re an excellent way to demonstrate how your company’s corporate values align with your employees’ interests and well being. 

 The value of the Healthy Homes Program, which includes two visits, a prioritized list of recommended changes and a number of products and tools to get you started, is valued at more than $1200, with utility savings totaling more than $200 per year on average. The program is supported by corporate sponsors and government grants, but this does not cover the entire cost of the program. In order to be financially sustainable we charge based on a sliding scale for corporate and individuals, to allow us to continue delivering this remarkable program while making it accessible to all Calgarians.

Corporate price to ‘Sponsor an Employee’:

  • 1-10 home visits: $250 / visit
  • 11-25 home visits: $225 / visit
  • 26+ home visits: $200 / visit

 All fees go to running this program, allowing a growing number of Calgarians to receive the benefits of the Healthy Homes program. We thank you for your support.

Other services are available such as green team advising, recycling research, tenant/employee engagement and hands-on implementation.
