Wanna Go Green in 2018?

Green Calgary is seeking community leaders with a passion for sustainability and a wide variety of professional skills and experience to join our Board of Directors in 2017/18.

The volunteer board provides leadership to Green Calgary in the areas of organizational direction, policy, strategic planning, and fiduciary accountability.  We aim to attract skilled and committed individuals to help Green Calgary fulfill its mandate.  

 

What makes a great Green Calgary Board Member?

You’re passionate about improving our communities through the reduction of environmental impact!

You possess a track-record of community leadership and active participation.

Prior board level experience with a non-profit organization is not required but is a great asset.

We're recruiting board members with diverse backgrounds, and have a specific need for experience in the following areas:

  • Environmental Programming and/or policy development and management
  • Funding and grants
  • Environmental issues
  • Marketing, Media, Public Relations 
  • Communication/Branding

The board meets once a month and each board member is asked to serve on at least one standing committee. Directors are expected to make a two-year commitment but we figure you’ll enjoy this so much you’ll never leave.

Green Calgary is a non-profit, registered charitable organization that has been addressing a wide range of pressing urban environmental issues in our city since 1978. In addition to providing information and raising awareness, our organization strives to provide the specific tools and resources that empower individuals and groups to make positive environmental changes.

Submissions will be accepted until March 2, 2018.The Nominating committee will contact those applicants selected for an interview no later than  March 9, 2018.  Applications are welcomed from everyone, including: women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ community, and members of visible minorities.  It is our aim to have a Board which reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
