Current Employment Opportinities with other Environmental Groups:

ECCOpave Inc. - Environmental Solutions Coordinator

ECCOpave is a shingle recycling company. Each year in Calgary about 50,000 tonnes of shingles are removed from roofs during roof replacement. Most of this ends up in the landfill. Two years ago all of it  was landfilled, but since then ECCOpave has effected the diversion of 18% to recycling. Our goal this year is to increase that diversion rate to at least 50%. We are now looking for an Environmental Solutions Coordinator. This is a full time position available immediately and running through October with the possibility of reduced hours in the winter months.

Duties include:
Marketing – meeting with personnel from roofing companies and hauling companies to sign them up as clients and to assist them in understanding our procedures.
Site maintenance – inspecting our Calgary North collection site daily and tidying up as needed. This normally requires 30-60 minutes to pick up shingles and debris that have fallen out of the sides of the collection bins, and to use a wheeled magnet to pick up any nails that litter the site.
Media liaison – last year we were featured in print, radio and television news stories. We expect  considerably more of the same this year.
Office management – performing a variety of support tasks.

Requirements include:
Clean driver’s abstract: We provide a van for your use.
Outgoing personality: This is very much a people-oriented job.
Self-starter: You will have considerable control of your time and you must be someone who can handle this responsibility keeping focused on the necessary tasks each day.
Concern for the environment: You need to be able to demonstrate a background showing participation
in activities that further the wellbeing of the environment, whether on a paid or volunteer basis.

Please email your resume and cover letter to gary@eccopave.com.
